GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at my high school has been great. I started late in freshman year because I moved in with my dad, it was a little scary at first because I was used to Virginia Beach schools. But once I was in the school I knew I found my family. This school showed me what high school was meant to be. I was taught that you just go to school and do work, and that's boring because you need school spirit and that is what I. C Norcom has. At my school, we have administrators, teachers, and students who all show school spirit daily.

I really enjoy my time at I.C Norcom. Being involved and getting to know who you're around is a good thing. The teachers i've had are so helpful and supportive.

Very pleased with the education provided to my nieces. Smaller classes, nurturing teachers, supported administration, strong heritage and alumni association. Norcom is well on its way to the mission set by Israel Charles Norcom.

Quality education, with educators who pride themselves with integrity, skills, knowledge, and Greyhound Pride.

I am not impressed with this school and frankly don't understand how they maintain their status. Unfortunately, the majority of us parents were either not aware that our houses were zoned for this school, or have been unable to sell our property due to the undesirable reputation that Portsmouth has....

The leadership is weak. The leadership there has a terrible administrative record. There has been so much scandal attached to the leadership ... its amazing how it hasnt gotten any media attention considering how much scrutiny has been given to Portsmouth politics.
