The teachers are very good. There is way too much homework and stress though.

The teachers at WSA are phenomenal. They will drop anything to sit down and help a student. However, the school itself cannot decide on its culture: arts-based or rigorous, internationally-minded or for struggling domestic students. The lack of one true culture in such a small school makes going to WSA seem like going to a job versus the community that the school wants us to think it is.

Being in Western Washington, the school is very liberal. As an international school, lot's of races (and nationalities) are represented. The gay-straight alliance is very prominent, and I would say that about half the kids at the school would or will identify as LGBTQ.
