Yale Elementary School is a Richardson Independent School District public school. The school is located off Collins Boulevard in Richardson and serves students in prekindergarten through sixth grade.
Yale Elementary School has been routinely ranked as an Exemplary School by the Texas Education Agency. The school received the Blue Ribbon School award from the US Department of Education in 2006.
The school provides rigorous coursework through core subjects and special courses. All curriculum is developed based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Core classes include mathematics and language arts. Special courses include fine arts and physical education classes.
Yale Elementary follows the Coordinated School Health initiative that was adopted by the district. The initiative promotes health and wellness education throughout elementary school classes. Students learn the importance of making healthy choices and staying active.
Yale Elementary students can participate in extracurricular clubs and activities the school sponsors. There are fine arts clubs, like Honor Choir and sixth-grade band and orchestra. There are also academic-based clubs, like the Robotics and Invention Convention. Athletic clubs include the Running Club, and creative clubs include the Craft Club.
The school mascot is the Roadrunners, and the colors are red and blue. Students aren’t required to wear a school uniform but must follow the district’s dress code and Code of Conduct as outlined in the Student Handbook.
