GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Richlands High School is a very opportunistic school that tries to prepare the students for what is to come later in life. The school is kind of musty and not very clean, but we are a very poor community, so the county doesn't give out many money grants. The administration is beneficial in trying to help out students who do not have material items and tries to give as much as possible. However, that being said we are a very strong community that tries to help one another out.

This school is very small, population wise. It's not very diverse , and all funding goes into sports. The arts get no funding or appreciation. If you're different here, you'll likely be discriminated against, I can say from experience. However, due to this school being very small, it feels safe. I've made several close connections to teachers that have impacted me to this day. Almost all faculty members care about their students and improve their lives , even outside of school.

I love my school! Go blue tornados! We are all just one big family and the curriculum is great, but I would like better lunches in the cafeteria.

Richlands High is my alma mater and I now send my children to this school, as well. RHS continues to have many amazing teachers that care tremendously about their students' academic success, but more importantly their success in life.
