GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I hope that our city begins to take youth sports more seriously. There is a disconnect between younger athletes and the high school. Most of the athletic talent will leave town for other more competitive schools.

It was okay. Lot's of popular kids getting away with being rude to others, but what's new? Most of the teachers were really kind. I was only there for two years, so I didn't make very many connections. However, their theatre program is nice, and their art program is wonderful. The teachers are people you can lean on, and ask for help without being afraid of being judged.

I'd say it was average. The teachers there are nice and seem like they care for their students. It's starting to overcrowd and they needs bigger school. It's cold in Washington and you have to walk outside in between classes which is annoying. The student body is tends to be a bit judgmental but the school is full of intelligent students who want to improve the world. Most people at ridgefield tend to have high aspirations and work hard.

Nothing to complain about necessarily, there are some descent teachers and the school itself is actually kind of nice, I would argue that they offer quite a large array of AP classes. Though I do wish they would focus more on creative pathways, the students themselves can be quite enthusiastic about...

Took both of my students out and sent them to Clark College for Running Start, which prepares both for the real world of college level courses and college level homework. They will tell you that the AP classes are great and provide more foundation than Clark. What they won’t tell you is only 8% of A...

Neglected, totally ignored. Administration is absent and having TA do their work.

All schools have challenges, and Ridgefield High School isn't immune to the difficulties of public education. However, the staff (teachers, counselors, support staff and administration) work long hours, give up lunches, come in early and stay late, and work as hard or harder than almost anyone else...
