Notre Dame Catholic Academy is located at 61st St. and Bleecker St. in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Queens, New York. The school serves 327 students in grades pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. As a member of the National Catholic Educational Association, the school's religious affiliation is Catholic. Students from all backgrounds are welcome to participate in the Catholic educational experience at the Catholic academies and parish schools within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn.
Half days and four days are available for nursery-age children. In addition, children who are four years old may enroll in one of Notre Dame Catholic Academy's classes as part of Queens Pre-K for All program that provides free instruction through the Department of Education.
The school's mission is to be a faith-based community that embraces and respects the diversity of each individual through a challenging academic and technologically advanced education that enables students to become productive and caring members of society.
The community practices and shares the Catholic faith by collecting food, clothes, and money for different charitable organizations throughout the year. Students of all ages and grades may participate in the student government to understand the value of service.
Despite being a Catholic institution, Notre Dame Catholic Academy strives to be relevant to the 21st century and provide a meaningful education to navigate the world today. The school needs to be known community-wide and allow students to be the director of their learning. Teachers and staff empower the students by serving as a guide along the child's academic and spiritual journey.
Instructors at Notre Dame Catholic Academy teach four key areas: faith, scholarship, community, and service, while striving to be the best teachers, administrators, and staff to students with various needs. Understanding that no two students have the same learning style allows the school to create individual learning plans for every child. Students learn in small groups, through tutoring, and through direct instruction.
Students learn basic core subjects like English language arts, math, science, religion, physical education, and Italian. In addition, the school implemented enrichment programs like the common core integrated algebra one program and the earth science regents program. A range of extracurricular activities is available at Notre Dame Catholic Academy, all tailored to individual students' interests. These initiatives are made possible by the faculty members' generosity in donating their time and skills outside the regular school day. Twice a week, fourth-grade students may join the Math Prep Club after school. Students in grades 1 through 4 may perform at school events throughout the year by joining the Glee Club. Students who may want to lead the school prayer services throughout the year can join the NDCA Music Ministry that meets before school.

Pre k is horrible. The children are out of control. They bully the teachers. Spit at the teachers and others. The staff is not concerned about anything happening in pre k. The parents are contacted and they seem to ignore what their child is doing. I don’t understand why this is allowed to continue....

My daughter has had a wonderful experience at this school. The teachers are dedicated to each and every child. The test scores far surpass other local schools. It Is a home away from home

We like the school a lot, just wish kids could do their homework on the computers, instead of carrying those heavy backpacks. Sometimes I feel like my daughter will break in half under all that weight. The school needs security as well! A little renovation wouldn't hurt.

My daughter has been in this school since Nursery. They do an amazing job. The teachers are winderful, they continue to add technology and clubs. My daughter loves the drama club. Very safe nurturing environment
