GreatSchools Rating

Source: GreatSchools
GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I've been going to Handley since Kindergarten, it's obvious that it is neither the best nor worst, it has a good football team, but they prioritize the football team too much and the rest of the school too little.

Recently, Handley added a Graphic Arts class. This school is open to new curriculum involving the betterment of students and developing interest in a career field.

Handley High School is a very good school for anyone to attend. Of course the school has issues, but all high schools do. Handley has a very good band and chorus, and a spectacular drama club; everyone always enjoys every performance given by any of them. However, I wish the school would fund fine arts the way they fund sports. Students who are passionate about fine arts are often told to "figure it out" or just "do a fundraiser" and that usually is not very helpful. Most students just want support.
