Located on the campus of the Rochester Museum and Science Center, Genesee Community Charter School (GCCS) serves 215 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. This public charter school is tuition-free; the admissions process, conducted by lottery, is open to all age-eligible applicants. Described as “diverse by design” GCCS embraces the EL Education approach to learning. EL Education emphasizes active, engaged learning and positive school culture; unique features include fieldwork and interdisciplinary learning expeditions. The GCCS curriculum specifically focuses on Rochester’s history, in an effort to connect students to the community in meaningful ways. I've noticed there's little to no diversity here. It seems to me that there is a studentselection process that keeps the white ratio high.
