Located on the campus of the Rochester Museum and Science Center, Genesee Community Charter School (GCCS) serves 215 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. This public charter school is tuition-free; the admissions process, conducted by lottery, is open to all age-eligible applicants.
Described as “diverse by design” GCCS embraces the EL Education approach to learning. EL Education emphasizes active, engaged learning and positive school culture; unique features include fieldwork and interdisciplinary learning expeditions. The GCCS curriculum specifically focuses on Rochester’s history, in an effort to connect students to the community in meaningful ways.
