Surrounded by lakes and Kent County countryside, East Rockford Middle School provides a welcoming environment for sixth, seventh and eighth graders. Constructed in 2000, the East Rockford Middle School building is the smaller of two middle school locations in Rockford Public Schools. With fewer students, the school can offer reduced class sizes. This Blue Ribbon Exemplary School is home to many special programs for students to learn, grow and lead. Green School, No Place for Hate, Rockford Leo Club, Teen Leadership and DARE are just a few programs for middle school students. The campus also includes a gym, stadium, and baseball and softball fields. Student-athletes compete in volleyball, football, cross-country, sideline cheer and tennis. East Rockford Middle School follows the Michigan Content Standards. Skilled teachers use the Gradual Release of Responsibility instruction model to prepare students for standardized state assessments. Graduates of East Rockford Middle attend Rockford Freshman Center for ninth grade and Rockford High School for 10th through 12th grade.

We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
