At Our Lady of Consolation School, students from Rockford and the surrounding areas can receive a quality faith-based education. The curriculum is guided by Catholic values and aims to grow children’s understanding of their faith while providing meaningful instruction.
The school has served preschool through eighth grade students for over 30 years. Core classes are supplemented by fine arts, physical education and Roman Catholic theology. Student progress is monitored through standardized assessments like the SAT and the more religious Assessment of Children/Youth Religious Education by the National Catholic Education Association.
The student population may be small, but this school still offers a range of extracurricular activities. Students can participate in Odyssey of the Mind, Science Olympiad or other mentally stimulating activities. Our Lady of Consolation Cougars can compete in multiple sports through the Grand Rapids Area Catholic Elementary Council league from fifth through eighth grade, with basketball also available for fourth graders.
Younger students can be enrolled in child care from 2 years old until they’re ready for kindergarten. Care is available before and after school for kindergarten through eighth grade students. As a Catholic school, Our Lady of Consolation is committed to “challenging the mind, strengthening the heart and nourishing the spirit of every student.” Tuition assistance and scholarships are available for those who qualify.
