Ridgeland High School is a good public school option for people in the Walker County area. They have many elective options such as art, film, wielding, ROTC, criminal minds literature, healthcare, and more as well as excellent core class teachers who are always willing to help. The school councilors there are available for communication at all times and are also extremely helpful. Ridgeland is not a perfect school and it has its issues, but it is a good school with many pros.

The Honors Academy at Ridgeland is truly the best thing about the school. The teachers are top tier and the students behave far better than others. The sports are sub-par with the students often not having the drive to want to win. The music and arts is poor. The band has gone down hill in the last three years, and the theater department barely has enough kids to put on shows. If you want your kid to be college ready and have a decent public school experience then Ridgeland is the school for them.

My children went to this school and they received a superior education. The teaching and learning is stellar. There have been no safety issues whatsoever.

Ridgeland has a slightly negative reputation due to issues in the past. However, during my time as a student there (2007-2011), I couldn't have imagined myself at a better school. The teachers that make up the Honors Academy are some of the best teachers in the state of Georgia. I learned more in th...
