whenever i was struggling mentally, i never got the feeling that no one cared. even if my friends didn't ask me what was wrong, a teacher always saw that something was hurting. and they always listened and never failed to make me smile afterwards. the staff are incredible and the opportunities and privileges are unlike anything i've ever experienced. the overall community was so welcoming. because there is such diversity, i never stuck out like a sore thumb. there was always someone that could swoop in. the personalities and radiant energy just make going there so much better. with everything happening in my home life, the support and the stability from Rossville, helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel. i grew up in the system and i don't regret anything. they never gave me more than i could handle because the teachers knew me personally. and even if it reached that bar, i always had a teacher by my side to walk me through it.
