The home of the Huskies, Crabapple Middle School opened in 1983. Since then, this school has been named a National School of Excellence, a Georgia School of Excellence and one of the first Georgia Lighthouse Schools to Watch for excellence in middle school education. Serving a student body of approximately 960 6th through 8th graders and a student-teacher ratio of about 14:1, Crabapple Middle’s motto is “Empowering all students to achieve excellence.” Beyond standard academic programs, the school offers programs that let students explore construction, graphic design, business technology and more. Test scores at Crabapple Middle are far above the state average and over 80% of its 8th grade students are reading at or above their grade level. Crabapple Middle School allows students to excel in academics and the arts while discovering early interests in possible career paths. It’s a school that aims to set students up for success.
