The teachers are devoted to actually teaching the kids and the overall learning of the students. But I have experienced almost isolation as a new student, and haven't made many friends.

This is my 3rd year being here and although it is a great school academically, it is lacking diversity and better opportunities. Most students who graduate from here have no clue what they are doing and we don't have a lot of classes and/or extracurriculars that really explain what life will be like outside of high school. I wish that we had a life skills class or anything of the sort just in order to be more aware of how life will be in college or just generally after high school.

The positive perks of Rowan County Senior High School is that there are many clubs to join. Like sports, leadership clubs, academic team, and many more. The downside of these is there is not much information to join them. Yes there is a club fair during lunch but I have no time to even go because I still have to eat lunch while we only have a 20 minute lunch period. Same with sports, I have a scrounge a scavenge for any info about sports. We have been struggling finding and keeping teachers and I don't know if it is the students fault or the hiring system but they has a been an issue. Some teachers just teach the way they want to teach instead of finding way that actually help the kids learn instead of just sitting there listening to someone talk for 50 minutes and not gaining anything.
