Shrine has been a great place for my daughter. The school is big enough to be exciting and small enough to focus on her. Every kid can play a sport, be in a play, or join a club. It's very welcoming. The kids don't form cliques, and it has a family atmosphere. The academic material seems to be above and beyond other districts, and the kids seem like happier people, overall. It just feels like a physically, emotionally and academically safe place. I do wish there was busing.

I moved to Shrine to find a more friendly environment and I definitely found that. All the teachers are extremely friendly and involved. Many of my teachers go to almost every sporting event even if it's an away game. They strive to provide the best education and try to personalize it to every student. Every single teacher is there to support you not only as a person but as a person. The education is stellar and in no comparison to any public school. As soon as I moved to the school I noticed a huge improvement in my grades and mood. The school might be small so it limits the extracurricular activities but everyone is involved in something. The building might not be shiny and new but it is home. The food is not the best but you will never question what you are eating and there are always healthy options. The college counselor is like no other and worth every penny and more. My only complaint is that the students can be kind of cliche. I would recommend Shrine to anyone and everyone.

We've had a very good experience at Shrine High School with our two students. The college counseling, college prep curriculum, opportunities to participate in sports, and opportunities for leadership are worth the tuition price. The Math and English departments are strong. History is quite strong to...

Shrine High School in Royal Oak has a lack of organization. Their classrooms and the teachers themselves are unorganized. The academy counselor doesn't address the problems when you bring them to her attention. Most of the teachers are very nice, but they are all just unorganized. I would rate this...

The staff and teachers are very welcoming and helpful. I feel so welcomed when I walk into the school. The expectations are to value yourself and others. To do your very best in academics and sports. They nuture the individual in many ways. The nice thing about a small school is they know each stude...

This was my old school, and it excelled in the English and Literature areas. However, it lacks electives and a good math/science program. Everyone is welcoming, but the school is very clique-ish and once you're in a clique, you cannot really get out. Overall, it's a decent school, but I left because...
