MY experience at Walden Groove was a remarkable one. I made life long friendships and was challenge to grow academically. I do feel that there were not proactive supports for college readiness. Everything I learned about postsecondary opportunities was through my parents or friends. I met with the counselor about twice a year and they only checked to see if I was on track to graduate. I did not get guidance or support regarding what career track to pick based on profitability or passion. I feel like they kept giving presentations about importance to go to college but never guided support. I also feel like at the career fairs there was a lot more focus on military careers vs technical education or college.

The school offers many Pima Community College classes, which is great for getting college credit early. There is a shortage on staff, and teachers are always leaving.

Walden Grove high school is a fairly average school in Sahuarita Arizona. I have been lucky enough to get its best teachers while taking only AP and PCC courses, but many of the on-level teachers aren't very good at their jobs. There are some activities that are almost unique to Walden Grove like the Lip Dub that engages all of the students in a fun gathering. Vandalism is rare, though some people are caught smoking in the restrooms at times.
