Forbes Elementary School is a part of the San Antonio Independent School District, the third largest school district in the greater San Antonio area. Named after 30-year veteran teacher and civic leader Muriel Forbes, the school opened in 1957 and has been a fixture in this area ever since. Forbes is the smallest public elementary school in the Highland Hills neighborhood and serves grades prekindergarten – five. NICHE which evaluates colleges and schools based on several core competencies, gives Forbes an above average rating in the areas related to the teaching staff. Employing tenets of Project Based Learning, Forbes uses a student-centered approach that focuses on collaboration and development of critical thinking skills. Foundational curricula include Science, Reading, Mathematics, English Language Arts, and Social Studies. There are also Bilingual and Gifted and Talented Programs available. Though extracurricular and afterschool programs are no longer available at Forbes, parents can contact the district offices to find similar resources in the area.

I would definitely NOT recommend this school to any one. I have had my child in this school for the last few years and these last 2 have been horrible. Not only does this school condone bullying; pretty much they turn the other cheek and I am guessing wish it away. The teacher and the principal join...

My daughter and sister have gone there since kinder. It's a great school. Never had any problems. The teachers are very helpful
