Students are pretentious rich kids or poor drug addicts very little in between. If your student is in HON/AP sowal is for you, if not steer clear. The admin only cares about the top 150-200 of each class, otherwise they nearly try to push you out using the system. Can't blame them, scores and grades affect funding. As for the state of the school we literally lost power briefly this morning, and I wish that was a joke. They build 2 multi million dollar sports stadiums and do nothing about this 20 year old building.

This is an A+ ranked school. Teachers are nice if you do the work. The biggest problem is the school decides pretty earlier on who will be the successful students. It is usually 3 or 4 people. Those are the only ones that are promoted or highlighted at the school. The same ones over and over. It is sort of sad for the rest of us who work really hard and are in the top of our class but because we were not picked early on we are overlooked, forgotten, ignored. That is why most juniors and seniors leave the school to dual enroll at the local college.

I have attended South Walton High School for two years in 11th and 12th grade. I have had the opportunity to take Dual Enrollment courses at Northwest Florida State College while attending South Walton High School which has been a great experience. I have joined several clubs, my teachers have been knowledgeable and helpful and it's a great place to attend high school.

The freshman AP History teacher is a disrespectful bully and an ineffective teacher. Avoid him at all costs. This school is does not prepare students for today's world.

We moved here summer 2024. My kiddo made an all-state Jazz guitar! First kid to qualify in the county! We LOVE South Walton High School! Good Godly teachers. Seriously one is studying theology! Love it. My son feels that the courses are challenging and he is in all AP classes and very much enjoying...

I went to this school. It was some of the worst years of my life. The students bullied me every day and the administration did little to nothing to stop it or turned a blind eye to it. This had a huge impact on my mental health. I ended up having to transfer to a different high school out of the cou...

We moved here two years ago and we couldn’t be happier with South Walton! My kids went to private schools in a larger city and they both have said they are so appreciative of how much their teachers care and are engaged!
