Sarasota Middle School’s mascot, the panther, is prominent throughout many of the public school’s programs — from its motto, the Panther Pact, to its interscholastic sports teams.
The approximately 1,200 students in grades six through eight enjoy special activities throughout the school year, like visits from dessert trucks, a book fair and spirit week, where they get to dress up according to a different theme each day.
It’s not all fun and games, though. Students participate in National History Day and the STEM Fair. Exceptional students can place into the Panther Gifted Academy, and all students may choose elective courses in fields such as music and technology.
Extracurricular activities contribute to the school’s creative and fitness facets. Students may take part in drama and choir, putting on performances throughout the year. The athletic department includes tennis, golf, basketball and track teams who compete against other local schools.
No matter where each student’s interests lie, they all unite for the Panther Pact: to be polite, prepared, productive and safe.

this school is overall not good. there have been cockroaches everywhere for the entire time I've been here and there's fights and the food has mould. teachers are annoying and the curriculum is just busywork. Don't come here, from a graduate as of tomorrow. But i will miss it for the memories.
