Most of the teachers are decent with some very good ones and some that aren't great. The school as a whole needs to work on the campus and buildings themselves.

Sarasota Military Academy is definitely for those who like structure and discipline. If you are looking for a school with good enough academics and a good learning curve this is the place. I love the leadership part of it and the military aspect of the school. It feels like family there and it's everything i needed to grow as a leader.

My experience with Sarasota Military Academy is a complicated one. I love what the school stands for and the mission but some of the students bring it down. It is a JROTC based school with uniforms and military aspects everywhere you look. If I could change one thing it would be how the students view the school and their attitude towards it. This school gets viewed as punishment by most of it's students and not as the blessing that it is. It has taught me confidence and leadership capabilities not only towards the military but towards my everyday life.

Not happy with how things were handled in regards to bullies. Also their communication skills were unsatisfactory.

Read above...If you really feel after reading this that SMA is a cut above then no one can help you. The bullying was less years ago but now no. Schools need to be fixed as no child is safe.

My son, a senior, has attended SMA since day 1 of freshman year. He decided in middle school that SMA is where he wanted to go. This smaller, Army JROTC based environment has done wonders for my son. As an incoming freshman, he was incredibly shy and uncomfortable around new people. Four years later...

Best high school education you can find in the area! SMA offers high academics with emphasis on positive characteristics like honor and integrity. I am an active volunteer at the school, and I witness these benefits daily. Couldn't be happier with this choice of schools!
