Many of the staff are there for good reasons and are there to guide children for their future. Overall the teachers and community are fantastic. The campus is beautiful. There are some teachers and staff who are definitely their for the paycheck and that's it.

Overall academically I would say I received my best preparation for HS from my middle school pre-cambridge program, once in HS I wasn't really motivated in academics. We have some nice programs but in my opinion not a lot of modern technology programs and resources. My main focused turned to sports and preparing for college football, unfortunately during my 4 years of HS our program went thru 3 different head coaches and our training an team suffered as a result.

I love Sarasota High School!! I am so glad I went there!! The teachers really care about the students and are involved. There are lots of fun activities to partake in and numerous clubs and sports to join!!! In my opinion, it is the best high school and I would choose it all over again!!

I have had 3 of my children attend SHS. One still there in 9th grade. They offer a wide variety of activities. The staff communicates with parents. And encourages parents to be involved.

I would agree with the school progress rating of a 2, as my son has made below average academic progress at this school. His academic performance greatly declined since attending here. He went from an above average advanced student to below average since attending Sarasota High. The school could do...
