Situated within Ann Arbor’s Southeast neighborhood, Scarlett Middle School has paired up with Mitchell Elementary in a unique collaboration with the University of Michigan School of Education. The partnership involves coordinated outreach to parents to increase involvement and enhanced professional development opportunities for teachers — all designed to improve academic performance. Many Scarlett Middle School students already score at the proficiency level on state tests for math and reading. School administrators and teachers believe the collaboration with the University of Michigan will help even more students hit that level. Scarlett Middle School is an International Baccalaureate “World School,” providing an advanced and innovative curriculum that includes cultural anthropology, global politics, philosophy and world languages, cultures and religions. Besides academics, Scarlett offers organized sports to its sixth through eighth grade students. It also has a variety of clubs. Scarlett’s Parent Teacher Organization helps coordinate fun events for students throughout the school year as well as the summer.

this school had so many wonderful people I got to connect with others very well and nobody there was rude i very much enjoyed my time at Scarlett middle school the food was the only thing I didnt enjoy.

This school actually has a lot of good opportunities at it. I was able to really connect with my teachers and I overall had a good learning experience. I enjoyed the 8th grade portfolio day and how in our advisory class we did team-building exercises every day.
