A mainstay in the Central Scottsdale neighborhood since 1950, Camelback Desert School is a private institution that serves students aged twelve months through kindergarten.
Camelback Desert School builds its curriculum from decades of history in teaching students in a fun and interactive way in a nurturing environment. Dedicated to making an impression in a child’s formative years, Camelback Desert School takes a personalized approach to learning.
The school is a NAEYC-accredited preschool and uses the Links to Learning curriculum, a proven method that lays the foundation for academic success. Camelback Desert School is also fully accredited by the National Independent Private Schools Association (NIPSA). Uniforms are required for ages three and up.
Each age is introduced to new academic concepts; for instance, toddlers begin to learn language development through books, songs and learning experiments, while math is practiced through colors, shapes and numbers. The kindergarten curriculum fully prepares young learners to excel in their elementary schools once they leave Camelback Desert School.
In addition to learning throughout the school year, Camelback Desert School offers a widely attended summer camp. Open for students ages five through twelve, campers enjoy field trips, sports, games, STEM projects, arts, crafts, music, dance and drama.

Love everything about this school. Amazing teachers and staff that truly love and care for the children! The kids do so many fun extra-curriculars here (Spanish, art, PE, music, nature play, swimming) they never have a chance to be bored. They learn through playing which is wonderful and love going...
