GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My worst experience at Scranton High became the best thing that ever happened to me. It happened in October of my sophomore year. This was my first full-time year at Scranton High due to the pandemic. I was caught with marijuana and got suspended for the remainder of the year. I was not allowed to return to school until the beginning of my junior year. My grades were not great at this point. I was again forced to participate in virtual instruction and entered the juvenile probation system. I used this opportunity to evaluate my actions and make the decision that I needed to change. I started to focus on my academics and my grades improved dramatically. I am now in all AP classes and my grade point average is a 3.9. My experience taught me that I am proof that there is such a thing as a diamond in the rough. I would love to see new academic and/or sports programs developed at Scranton High that can help other students like myself achieve their goals.

I attended Scranton High School all four years of my high school education. I was able to participate in may honors and AP classes. Scranton High even participated in dual enrollment credits through a local college. School lunch was edible but we were always provided fresh fruit and vegetables. I think the district could focus more on performing arts for the students and more on safety and respect amongst students and teachers. Teachers were very accessible.

Terrible. I graduated from this school with all As and Bs. When I got to college I was immediately behind. An A at this school is equivalent to a C at better schools. Just look at the test averages,. As for leadership and character building, this school is apathetic to development of its students. F...
