Sherwood Charter School is made amazing because of the teachers. They are dedicated to our kids and go above and beyond to make a positive impact. With lack of State funding, the school doesn't have as many resources, but the teaching staff makes up the difference. My child is a happier and more successful student because of this school.

This school has gone downhill over the past six years due to poor leadership. Lots of window dressing to make it look like a great community but academics have gone by the wayside, staff turnover is very high and families have left in droves. The principal is often not present and doesn't know most of the kids. In a district that already has excellent schools, a charter school needs to offer something different and excellent -unfortunately this one no longer does.

We had high hopes when going to this school. My child went for 4 years. Essentially and unfortunately we learned basically it was just like a public school except with less funding. Amazing School with teachers who truly care about their students. They teach to many levels of learning and are able to provide a more challenging curriculum for my advanced child and help/accommodations for my child with learning differences. Stay away. Terrible and inexperienced teachers. Horrible academic program. Worst administration of any school in district. Many kids attend who were expelled from Portland Public Schools. Many behavioral problems. They were OK during remote, but once kids started going back in person, wow, terrible.
