Caddo Parish Magnet Middle School is a great school! The school has amazing curriculum that they offer to the students. The teachers really care about their students and so does the rest of the staff. I had a wonderful experience!

This school is a great choice for any kids who are academically inclined or find their normal lessons so easy that they aren't engaged. You will never feel not engaged at Middle Magnet.

There are a handful of African American/Non-White students in a sea of white people. Most classes have around 30 students, to which about ten will be non-white. I often notice that the security officers call out the behavior of African Americans more than Whites. As a black attending student, I also notice a vast amount of racism from this school. I was walking up the staircase going to my next class, and three white boys were walking behind me. One said to the others, "What's the difference between a black person and a bench? A bench can support a family of five." Then they all proceeded to laugh. Needless to say, I was disgusted with this "joke," but this was not the first time I have encountered racism. In 6th grade, another white student told me that black people and hispanics have their scores raise by 40% so their grades will be up to par with white people. At the time, I was uneducated on racial issues; I was upset, but I brushed it off. Most of the white students believe it is well and okay to use the word "n***a," and will say it in any casual conversation. Most will pull stereotypes out of a hat and expected you to laugh. I'm very disappointed with the student body and I'm glad to say that I will be moving on to a, hopeful, better and racially-excepting high school after the following summer.
