GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Everybody changes in high school, and I'm no exception. when I got here as a freshmen we were in full blast of covid19, and it was a total disaster. But after four years of the same things, i can look back and compare the me now to the me then and say that I've learned a lot- not just from classes, but also from my peers. The big thing I think I've learned is how to interact people with different values than me. I work at a farm town gas station, it's no surprise that the old men that I see are often racist, homophobic, and sexist. Being younger and female, I don't share those thoughts. It's hard to see older members of the community negatively stereotype women and other minority groups. When I see prejudices it just makes me want to be more accepting, because it's the right thing to do and I want to be a better person than they are. in the future, one of my goals is to be more vocal when I see injustices happen. High school has taught me more about being a real adult.

I really enjoy my school, I think many of the teachers really want to see the success of the students here. My only complaint is when teachers only teach through slide shows or notes and don't focus on hands on learning which I learn best through.

I graduated from this school and went on to college. Honestly, the school gives you the basics. Everything you need is available and not much more. The school does its best with the small budget and resources it has. Most of the teachers have a lot of knowledge around the subject they teach. The mus...

Child has been challenged by teachers in all honor classes, clubs, and sports. The teachers there are invested in their students and really care about their futures.

I researched long and hard, looking for the best high school in an affordable quiet area of NC with a relaxing commute to work, central to the Triad and the Triangle. JMHS kept coming up on the list. Rated in the top 15 by US News in NC for the past couple of years and winning awards. The staff is p...
