There is no cafeteria, they bring in lunch from a different school in the area, so understandably there aren't many options. They do have 2 fridges (one with a freezer) and 2 microwaves, plus a toaster, so it's accommodating for bringing your own lunch. Students eat wherever, which in my opinion is way better than everyone being in a cafeteria.

No extracurricular activities to speak of because of extreme lack of funding- Poetry out Loud was fun, though. They work with what they have.

Lots and lots of communication with parents. Dress code loosely enforced, principle hands-on and involved, office staff nice and helpful.

I can't say enough about Skagit Family Learning Center and Skagit Academy. My student was doing fine in a traditional setting, but was the type of kid to just absorb into the background in a large classroom. Now he attends school three days a week and I help him with his homework the other two days....

They have undergone a lot of changes in the last year and is not like it used to be. Less emphasis on home-school & more on small public school feel and testing! The admin as changed so some changes were expected but if your a home-schooling parent you may see the differences. Mine is out of school...
