I would say that the best parts of my time at slaton high school would be the time in the band. I really loved participating in the drum line and UIL competitions. My worst experience however, would likely be dealing with some of the other people here. I've had bad experiences with my fellow classmates that really just made this school look bad.

Slaton high school was okay, I would say it struggled just cause it was a small town. From the start of school people already knew people, and because of this cliques were made early on. Some kids were excluded and those kids made friends with each other. In all honesty i would like to see a change in school couture.

The teachers are good and nice and they slow motivate you to learn and make it easy to learn advanced stuff. It's a good place to make friends and better your education. As for the worse part would be the students acting out which is obviously going to happen because it's if school. The old staff wasn't that good with discipline at the start of last school year and during the second semester is when they locked down on rules and made it a safe environment.

The test scores are way too low. There is very little engagement with the staff and students. Also, they allow racism to run rampant in the school and allow other students to bully and commits act of violence against upstanding students.

This school represents the opposite of what a great school should be. Instead of forming future exemplary members of the society, they are cultivating racism and bullying by encouraging their students to bully and to use racist language against members of minority race students. This institution is focused primarily on sports and they are not really even good at those. I have lived here most of my life and pay astronomical property taxes to fund a school that mismanages money to focus on athletics over education. The superintendent is just here to spend spend spend and not...

It is a very friendly enviorment! I have just recently enrolled, but I am around to be a tiger. The teachers are great and the athletic coaches are amazing and have turned Slaton High School around.
