At Social Circle Middle School, educators partner with parents and guardians to ensure a better education for approximately 450 sixth- through eighth-grade students. Kids are challenged by a rigorous academic program that includes history, language arts, science and math. By building on these core skills, Social Circle Middle gets kids prepared for success in their high school years and beyond. Beyond the classroom, the Social Circle Middle School Redskins compete in a variety of sports including basketball, soccer and cheerleading. The school also offers a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities that allow kids to explore new interests, meet new friends and develop leadership skills. The Social Circle City Schools System, of which Social Circle Middle School is a member, is focused on providing an exceptional environment for learning and all schools in the system have received 4- and 5-star ratings in the Georgia Department of Education’s School Climate evaluations. By teaching children values and positive character traits, educators are able to provide a nurturing environment where kids feel safe and children can better focus on their studies and school activities. Social Circle Middle School gives sixth- through eighth graders a solid education with opportunities to have fun, too.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Horrible leadership with the administration. Teachers are mostly rude and on a high horse.

Zero tolerance progressive discipline system that is full of teachers and administrators who would push academically challenged children with disabilities out of the classroom and into the school to prison pipeline.

SCMS offers many extracurricular opportunities. The prinicipal is really involved in the community. The new Board should seek to support ALL schools equally.
