South Elgin High School is a great school for kids wanting to learn and lead and do better for themselves. There is a lot of teachers willing to help students but you just need to find the right ones. Majority of the times, the teacher will absolutely be willing to connect with you and help you through all of it. Our Deans and faculty are great too depending on which person you get. However overall it's a pretty good experience. They have a great student life and a lot of clubs and there is always something to do even if you don't know it yet.

As much as I love the extracurricular activities and rigorous courses offered at South Elgin Highschool, the U-46 district does not do nearly enough to prepare their students for college. They allow late work at extreme measures and up until just this school year our formative assignments didn't even count towards our final grade. We have no finals and our staff is way too lenient with how they take charge of our classrooms.

South Elgin High is like any other high school - offering a wide range of classes, including AP, honors, and varity of electives that you can choose from. Extracurriculars like sports, clubs, and music programs also can add to you experience. Specifically, I loved the French teacher and French class electives, within my time at South Elgin my best moments were within French class, weightlifting, or science classes.

it’s a fun school and there’s lots of things to participate in. the teachers can literally be your best friend. in honors classes they will prepare you for ap and your sats and acts for the next year.
