GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My high school experience was great. I made friendships that I still have to this day, the connections I made with my teachers were valuable, and everything I learned prepared me for college and the outside world.

As a former student at South Elgin High School my 3 years have been exciting and extremely funny with a lot of diversity know multiple people with different cultures and different backgrounds and lifestyles. It is interesting to know they are living a different lifestyle and I can add some to mine. Besides diversity the academics and activities are very interactive the education does go at a good pace too.

As a student, I loved my time at the school but looking back the school as a whole was not very good. The teachers ranged from great to downright awful, and not helpful. In the 4 years I was there the way the deans enforced rules was much more strict, with bathrooms being locked and kids needing to be let in by a dean with keys like it was a prison.
