If I could choose one word to describe my experience with the STEM Innovation Academy of the Oranges, it would be perseverance. STEM is a tiny school with only about 40 students in every grade, and during my freshman year, I saw this as a disadvantage. Seeing the same faces over and over again drove me crazy, but eventually I began to see the upsides. At STEM I knew my teachers personally, and they knew me; I wasn't just a number or a face. This sense of community is what STEM is all about and what made me love the school.

Stem Innovation Academy is a high school located in South Orange where students can only apply if they live in Orange. A pro to Stem is the amount of connections the school has to other colleges and programs. NJIT is a college in Newark New Jersey that has a strong relationship with Stem which allows people to pursue their studies with more ease. The worse part in my opinion with Stem is the food. One con a normal person might have is the size of the school since it's pretty small.
