I have enjoyed my years at SPHS pretty much. Each year they keep holding events to pretty improve the school but there are also student concerns that may take a while to be addressed or just aren't. Sometimes the students are left feeling like parts of the administration are against them but overall they are open to advocacy and change for the better (Me and my friend were able to convince them to replace the band room alarms since we couldn't hear important announcements like lockdowns. I still took a long time with years of advocacy previously but we finally got it. The jazz band was also able to convince the board that it should be a club so we could get more members for competitions and we also succeeded). Plus the lower the cost for their students to apply for AP credits and have a large diversity of classes (Most people can't fit every thing they want to take into their schedule since so many are just that desirable).

In my opinion, South Plainfield's curriculum was amazing as well as supportive staff. On the other hand , I didn't think this was much of a diverse community. I think most people stuck to what they always knew instead of getting to know people outside of their race or ethnicity.

As a former student of this high school , they have great general education courses and clubs to keep a student occupied , but if you have a gifted child who has some sort of mental/learning disability then this school is not for you due to the fact that they do not know his or her learning potentia...

Good school as far as choices for sports and clubs, and the availability of teachers to provide extra help to students before and after school. However, there is an apparent lack of attempts on the part of the school to forge good relationships with parents who are new to the town and/or minorities....
