GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

As much as I complain about this school, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. While most of our experiences have been ruined by circumstances out of our control. There are no regrets.

I came to South River High School my junior year of high school after attending Jackson Liberty High School. They have fewer academic courses and clubs in South River, but they have more school spirit. The teachers are dedicated and help their students achieve in their class. The only downside to attending South River High School, is that they don't have more AP's and honor courses for some classes.

I enjoyed my time at South River High School. The classes are small and so you have the ability to socialize and end up knowing almost everyone. I also enjoyed that you could make an impact on the school with a new club or idea. The principal and vice principal are always willing to work with everyone. I would have wished that the department of schools paid more attention to the music program. I believe the program should be funded a lot more and the only teacher for the program is not given enough credit.

I was part of the class of 2016. And let me tell you. It did nothing for any of us.

Unprofessional and immature teaching staff. VERY FEW EXCEPTIONS at this high school. Pass kids on to higher levels and out the door that still can't spell or write. In two years there were atleast 12 kids that had dropped out without encouragement to stay.

This is a great town to live in and the schools are renovated or on the newer side. The superintendent is great and has been around a long time. The staff care about the students.

I would rate this school worse. Just last year there was a heroine overdose in the high school. They discovered a ring of students who were injecting heroine. Public didn't hear that though.
