Even though I have been out of Spring Lake Heights Elementary for four years now, I knew the teachers pretty well while I was there. The teachers were awesome, they were so nice and good at their jobs. They genuinely cared about how you were doing in school, and out as well as just what was going on in your life. For example, they knew what sports you were apart of and what you did outside of school. When I was there we didn't use computers that much because there were not enough for the whole school, but we did have smart boards in almost every room by the time I left

Overall, the school is safe. It does not address the issues of lack of diversity and open racism that affect the minority students and their families. Anything that is not status quo or working in the favor of the larger school population, is not worked on to be made better.

This school is great for the below average student. Students above average are not given the right tools to succeed at the same level in high school. The school provides almost no challenge to the students. Our kids get virtually no homework while others in other districts in the same grades get significantly more. It is not a surprise that later on in school the students are not prepared or up to speed.
