GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Overall, the teachers themselves were amazing for the most part. Admin has never been great, and as with every high school there are some terrible students. However, if you are not white you are going to have a problem here at some point, guaranteed. Admin tries to help but they have no idea.

It is a close knit school, but amount of classes are limited due to the small faculty. PV gives lots of opportunities for involvement in extracurricular activities. Staff is very friendly.

I just graduate in 2019 from Penns Valley. I was a two sport letter winner and participated heavily in the arts program. I love Penns Valley because of the effort most of the teachers put in to their work. If I ever had any issues I could always go to Mr. Stattel (people give him a bad rap but he's really just a guy that makes corny jokes). I loved being able to practice two sports while also being a part of the Spring Musical. Coach Case, recently retired, was an influential part of my growth as a person. The administration could be a bit better but I have few qualms and nothing to actually bring up at this moment.

I graduated from PV in '72. I no longer live in the valley but visit whenever time allows. This school provided me with strong roots a base on which all "peoples" were to be viewed with respect. Several teachers who have since retired or passed away, helped to mold me into the person I am today and...
