Southeast is really good for diversity and the students are pretty chill. Most teachers are really good and you can tell that they love their job and genuinely want you to succeed. The dress code isn't that strict and the administration isn't bad. Theres a lot of fights but security and teachers do pretty good at stopping them and making sure no one was hurt. You have to go through metal detectors every day which kinda sucks but its reassuring for safety. The whole school smells like sweat and weed and the food mostly sucks. Overall the schools best part is the experiences you have and the people you meet.

The principal is steadfastly sure that the next year will always be better, a significant amount of kids get dropped off at cars that are filled with pot smoke. Lockdowns for guns, knives, and other violence are rather common. Too many teachers are marking time until they leave, perhaps more than the students.

If your child has a 504 or IEP, do not send your child here!!! Southeast only has 1 social worker who is overwhelmed and over tasked. The staff losely follows the accomodations listed in the 504 / IEPs and interrupts it as they please. There is also absolutely no follow up if your child is struggling. Do not expect the teachers, social worker, administrators, or special education department to reach out to the parents to problem solve or ever!! Worst school for special education I have ever seen!

Southeast is a great school! It gets to much negative criticism from outsiders. I have two biracial children who excel in all their classes. And the majority of the teachers and counselor are great!!! This school serves to have a higher rating than a 2!
