Forest Park Middle School is a public school located on Oakland Street directly across the street from the historic Forest Park in Springfield, Massachusetts. The school serves approximately 480 students in sixth through eighth grade in the Forest Park neighborhood, and the student-teacher ratio is 13-to-1. Forest Park Middle School is a Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership school, and through this partnership, students engage in community service and participate in various enrichment offerings. Forest Park Middle School also offers different sports teams with soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, volleyball in the spring and intramurals all year. Students can also take part in several after school clubs and programs for hobbies such as gaming, running, arts and crafts, drama, gardening, yearbook and a makerspace program for creative minds. There were physical fights between children on school property very often( at least once a week) with little consequence. I often felt children were left unattended which opened many opportunities for bullying. We did however have many drills and a school officer.

I never hard of sports and I was never asked to join a sport. The equipment and gym was poor so we tended to use the public park during gym. No one really had school spirit.

I have nothing bad to say about this school. I am a parent of an honor student. The school will not tollerate bullies. The teachers are very communicative to parents. I never had any problem with my son in this school. In conclusion I recommend this school for your child.
