White Street Elementary School is a public elementary school that serves roughly 450 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The school is located on White Street near The X intersection and commercial district in the Forest Park neighborhood of Springfield. The school, established in 1904, is a two-story building with a playground and green space, where students play and participate in visual arts, music, physical education, health, computer science and library classes in addition to their curriculum in math, language arts, science and social studies. In 2017, White Street Elementary School was one of three Massachusetts schools to be named a National Blue Ribbon School, an honor bestowed on schools demonstrating academic excellence and outstanding improvements. In recent years, the school has made substantial progress toward learning targets and increased student and teacher performance, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, fulfilling the school’s motto: “Believe to achieve.”

One of the teachers is always rude to my daughter and has even given her what I feel was unfair grades. Teachers like that ruin the learning experience for young children.
