St. Joseph School is a private Catholic school north of downtown Knoxville. The school was founded in 1963 and serves students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. St. Joseph is open to students from nine area parishes and other faith traditions, but Catholic students are given priority in the admissions process.
The school is accredited by AdvanceEd and offers a comprehensive education including foreign language, art, music and athletics. There are many opportunities for academic competitions at St. Joseph, as students can participate in the spelling bee, geography bee and science fair. Highly achieving students may be invited to the National Junior Honor Society.
Athletics at St. Joseph are geared more towards older students, though some teams accept students as young as fourth grade. The school offers teams in basketball, cheerleading, tennis, cross-country, flag football, volleyball, track and softball.
In addition to the school-day activities, St. Joseph offers afterschool care until 6 p.m. for an additional fee.

HOnestly, all the private schools need more education with regards to bullying and personal safety. Public schools in TN do a much better job of educating and informing kids and parents.

I have put 2 children through St. Joseph school. I have been more than satisfied In the education they received. The school has received the Blue Ribbon for Academic Achievement and has been accredited by Advanced Ed I feel this means that the teachers are working very hard to meet the needs of each...
