The St. Luke Parish School on Ashland Avenue prides itself on a tradition of academic excellence founded on a faith-based approach to learning. The school provides private Catholic education for prekindergarten through eighth-grade students. The St. Luke Parish School was founded in 1921 in River Forest to help each child become the best version of themselves. The school also offers an Early Childhood program that promotes social and emotional learning for younger students.
Kindergartners improve their reading skills while elementary students progress to abstract thought, project-directed problem solving and personal independence. Middle school students engage with core courses in the language arts, math, social studies, science and religion. Middle schoolers also have five days a week of lab-based science, Spanish instruction four three to four days a week and language arts for ten periods per week. Math courses are based on each student’s individual ability. Art, music, technology, social-emotional learning and technology are also incorporated into their curriculum.
Students enjoy annual retreats that provide opportunities to grow and make new friendships. Athletic programs offered at St. Luke Parish School include co-ed soccer, boys' and girls' basketball, volleyball and co-ed track and field. Committed to creating a school where service and responsibility are emphasized, the St. Luke Parish School works to respect, love and nurture each child it enrolls.
