GreatSchools Rating

Source: GreatSchools
GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The best part of SHS was the community of people surrounding. However, do to having such a small community the school lacked in resources and people to run things like clubs and teach classes.

I enjoyed entering high school and having opportunities to participate in activities not related to athletics. Being able to participate in speech and drama and the school plays have made a world of difference in my confidence level. I would like see our school budget more funds to support the drama department so that we may produce better school plays.

Steelville High School has some of the best teachers, but there are also teachers that are just there for a paycheck.
