Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (CVCA) is a private non-denominational Christian school in Stow offering college preparatory programs and biblical education to more than 850 students from sixth through 12th grade in seven surrounding counties. The school’s 70-acre campus along Wyoga Lake Road features a stadium, gymnasium, theater, and modern classrooms.
CVCA offers an array of academic and religious pathways for students, including a college prep track curriculum that allows students to earn college credit through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), Advanced Placement (AP), and College Credit Plus (CCP). Students can also take advantage of student ministries and fine arts education including theater, visual arts, vocal arts, and instrumental.
The school is known for its robust athletics programs, which includes football, basketball, soccer, cross country, golf, tennis, volleyball, cheerleading, swimming, wrestling, lacrosse, hockey, bowling, and track and field. Student-athletes have earned CVCA seven state championships since it opened in 1968, including three in boys’ soccer and two in girls’ track and field.
With a student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, CVCA ranks relatively high compared to nearby high schools and has been ranked in the top 10 Christian schools in the state. However, it ranks low when it comes to diversity, with 75 percent of students identifying as white, 12 percent identifying as Black, 5 percent identifying as Asian, and 2 percent identifying as Hispanic.
Notable CVCA alumni include Major League Soccer players Ben Zemanski and Ben Speas, as well as Olympic wrestler Justin Lester.

CVCA's strengths include the schools ability to prepare students for college, equip them throughly in STEM education, and provide opportunities for students to develop skills in and explore areas of interest. CVCA's weaknesses include the schools lack of diversity in student body, curriculum, and teaching methods\areas of study available.

I had just transferred here this past year and it has been my favorite year of school by far. The change of atmosphere from a public school with no remorse for their students to this academy in which everyone cares for the goodness and well-being of others was so refreshing and made me love the classes and people and opportunities present here.

I am going to be a senior at CVCA in the next school year. I have been at CVCA for three years and it has been a great experience. You never feel alone at CVCA and I have formed valuable connections with both teachers and my peers. I have also grown in my faith through the daily Bible classes and Thursday chapels. It has been amazing to go to school alongside fellow believers and get to grow alongside each other. CVCA has also definitely challenged me in an academic sense and prepared me for college and provided me with amazing learning opportunities. There have also been numerous ways to get involved in the school and I have been able to be a part of plenty of amazing clubs. I also participated in basketball and sports at CVCA are so fun to be involved in. You can feel the support and it is fun going and watching other sports and supporting them. Overall I have really enjoyed my three years at CVCA a lot and it has grown me as a person in my social academic and religious sense.
