Lakeview Intermediate School, located at 1819 Graham Road, is the Stow-Munroe Falls City School district’s only intermediate school. Serving just over 700 students in fifth and sixth grade, Lakeview focuses primarily on preparing students for middle school (Kimpton) and high school (Stow-Munroe Falls). Students who attend Lakeview must live within the Stow-Munroe Falls district or qualify for open enrollment. Lakeview Intermediate School earned a “D” grade in achievement and progress according to the most recently available State Report Card. However, it boasts a “B” grade in gap closing, indicating that it’s making strides in performance among its most vulnerable students—and has an impressive graduation rate of 97.2 percent. Students can take advantage of beneficial educational programs while attending Lakeview, including English as a second language, gifted programs, school counseling, music, and art courses. Students also receive free Chromebooks and school transportation to enrich their educational experience. I have been dissatisfied with the way bullying is dealt with at this school. A teacher allows kids to be mean-spirited while doing nothing to stop it.
