The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

As many other reviews have said HHS is a very clique based school. It can be very hard to find a group of people if you are a new coming student. An issue that should be addressed is the school lunches. 1. They can be very small portions 2. The food isn't the best of cooked (fries usually over or under cooked). They did add a separate table with other snacky foods, drinks and ice cream but sometimes can be a bit pricey for a daily purchase. Some positives of this school are teachers. There are multiple teachers in the school that will not only care about your grades but also your well being as a person. Unfortunately they are some bad ones, that simply can be very power trip type teachers, and others that wont really care too much about you as a person. I would rate this school a 6/10, Its a good school for your kid if you have been in the district through all school years.

Honestly, I moved to the district a couple of years ago and was able to make friends easily. I would like to see improvement on the treatment of LGBTQ students, but other than that, I have no complaints.

I like the administration at Hamilton because they are helpful and understanding when it comes to personal issues you face. Something I like to see change is more of a variety of electives to take.

In terms of preparation for college, Sussex Hamilton did a well job at preparing you for success. Unfortunately, I had an experience of bullying at the school by one individual. That individual came onto my bus and attacked my cousin and I, and yet the school suspended me and my cousin from the bus...

You only get advanced courses when you qualify for them. The layout and courses available are great.

Hamilton High School in Sussex is an exceptional school. The culture is very positive because people care about students and they want everyone to succeed. A respectful environment where the focus is on learning.
