GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My change for Talihina High School would be better food, and a better atmosphere. The food is not the best, the meals are prepared way too early, so by the time the high school students get to eat, it is already cold or stale. My other idea of change would be to brighten up the buildings,or have more school spirit. Most of the students could care less if the golden tigers win or lose a game . We don't get to enjoy pep-rallys anymore, because students do not care anymore.

Talihina High School is a great school in many ways, but like all things, there is room for improvement. Located in a small valley community, the teacher/student ratio is fairly small which allows a sense of familiarity. Sports is very important to this school--sometimes a little too important. Academics is also important, but sometimes seems to take a back seat.

As someone who has been going to this school for most of their life I can gladly say that the teachers are great. The teachers genuinely care about the students and want them to succeed. If you need help in any subject they will help you in any way they can.
