Serving a large area of southwest Tallahassee, Bond Elementary is an integral part of the historically Black, Greater Bond neighborhood. Established in 1935, the school started out as a 4-room schoolhouse that grew rapidly as more families moved into the neighborhood. After several expansions, the school was relocated to a new building at its current location on Saxon Street in 2006. The teachers and staff of Bond Elementary School are dedicated to meeting the unique needs of their students and promoting learning in a safe, nurturing environment. Maintaining a strong student focus, school personnel focus on building strong relationships with parents, communicating with stakeholders, and raising expectations for students, teachers, and staff. The school has implemented many improvements in recent years resulting from a state-mandated improvement plan. By pursuing a data-driven curriculum combined, these efforts are paying off with steadily increasing grade ratings to receive a “B” from the Florida Department of Education. In addition to the core academic subjects, students have access to art and music classes, a multi-media library, and athletics. Struggling students can also access tutoring before school, after school, and on Saturdays. Additional extracurricular activities and classes are offered at the adjacent Walker Ford Community Center.

D. Jackson is a very horrible leader. It's obvious she is there because of who she know and not because she deserve to be there.
