The school is great for intelligent children, but there is an unnecessary focus on test schools and advance classes. The fine arts department always seems underfunded or has to fundraise in order to hold events more than other clubs. The staff puts more focus on academic achievement than mental health.

Throughout my 12 years at Tawas Area I never really had a problem with anything. All of the teachers and counselors helped me so much when my baby brother died. They helped me catch up with as much time as I needed and even helped my family with dinners and lunches.

Here's what I like about Tawas: they are safe, they have a good amount of choices when it comes to classes and extracurriculars, and they have a great school spirit. Here's what I don't like: random overreactions to small events that happen at the school. Arbitrary rules also exist. I am a very reasonable person, and I can respect almost anything if someone explains to me why they do it. But if a teacher says "do it this way" when I can do it much faster another way, and I ask them why we have to do it that way, and they respond with "just do it", it gets frustrating very fast. This doesn't happen often, but it does, and that's the darker side of Tawas.

Terrible principle, Rude staff, Bad college prep and can find child falling very quickly in grades if you do not keep up with it.

I absolutely love Tawas schooling! They provide great education and have great athletics! Go Braves!!

Tawas school is so much better then Oscoda. They inforce their dress code and allow no bullying.
