As a neighborhood landmark since 1969, Curry Elementary School serves more than 500 children in kindergarten through fifth grade as part of the Tempe Elementary School District.
At this public school nestled next to scenic Selleh Park, all students start off their early education with equal access to technology. While kindergarteners receive an iPad, students in all other grades receive Chromebooks to use at school. And the curriculum integrates project-based learning focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to better prepare students for the 21st century.
Outside of core subjects, students also learn fitness in physical education and grow creatively in fine arts, including participation in the district’s Studio Artists Program. And students also can thrive in a number of programs designed to help them grow, including gifted education and a Native American Program.
When it comes to extracurriculars, Curry Cougars can play basketball, kickball, or soccer. And through the district’s before- and after-school care program, students can participate in a variety of enriching activities, ranging from science-focused projects and arts to cooking classes and homework club.
Students can also feel like a part of the community with pizza parties, bingo nights, sports tournaments, and holiday events throughout the year at Curry Elementary.
