GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

There's a lot of small town mentality and it gets old. There's certainly a lot of favoritism too. Certain students get passed and get made to feel like they can get away with virtually anything, while on the other hand students on the lower end of the class mostly get treated like crap.

Southern is a outstanding middle/high school with excellent, caring, dedicated teachers, administrators, and staff. They provide a excellent education, and high school students can even earn college credits if they want too! I give them a 5 star plus rating!!!

Frustrating most times. Confusing due to inconsistencies from one level to the next. Petty and childish. Staff is lazy

Worst school ever. Worst place to live ever. Everyone only cares about drama and almost every girl that graduates the year after gets pregnant and can't afford to raise a child.

This school has its share of problems as many do, to much administration not enough treating all students the same. But don't be afraid of this school as a 1978 grad. Myself and many others were prepared for life, which is hard to teach!!!
